Replace any of the Digitone II's 34 FM DRUM transients with your own samples.
Pick your firmware, drop in audio, hear the result, download a signed image.
Everything happens in this tab. Your firmware file and your
samples are never uploaded — this page has no server to upload them to. It is
static files on GitHub Pages; you can read every line of it in the
repository.
Prove your way back before you flash anything. The Early Start-up
Menu reflashes stock firmware over MIDI. Do that once, with an unmodified image,
before you flash a modified one — and back up your +Drive, which no tool
here can recover.

The bank
34 slots. Click a waveform to hear it. Drop audio on a slot to replace it —
any format your browser can play, at any rate; it is mixed to mono and
resampled for you.
Every slot is exactly 100 ms, and your sample is cut to
fit. 4,800 samples at 48 kHz, the same for all 34 — there is no
length field to change. Anything longer is truncated; anything
shorter is padded with silence at the end. A slot that had to cut your file says so,
with the original length, and the start control moves which
100 ms is kept. The slot's waveform shows your whole file with the
imported window shaded, so you can see exactly what is kept and what is
dropped — and, for a short sample, how much of the slot is silence.
Elektron's own transients do not all fit either: 20 of the 34 are
still ringing when their slot ends, and that ring is what you hear at
the beginning of the next one. So the factory bank behaves like a continuous
3.4-second recording cut into 100 ms pieces rather than 34 self-contained
hits — and replacing a slot quietly changes the opening of the slot after it,
because the borrowed tail goes away. A sample that decays inside 100 ms
will behave more predictably than the factory content does.
Each slot sits at TRAN = 4 × slot − 8, measured
on hardware. Slot 20 is at TRAN 72, slot 33 at
TRAN 124. Every slot below shows its value.
Slots 0 and 1 cannot be selected at all.TRAN
starts at 0, which is already slot 2, so the first two entries are in the
bank but out of the knob's reach — worth knowing before you spend a sample on
one. 32 of the 34 are reachable.
The engine also interpolates between neighbours over that
four-unit stride, so values between two slots blend them rather than snapping.
How this was measured.

Build it
The image is rebuilt, re-signed with the key derived from your own file, and
every integrity field is checked again. Nothing downloads unless all of them pass.
