Digitone II Mods / glyph animator
Draw a glyph as a list of frames. The knob picks the frame, as on the unit. For still glyphs, use the Glyph Editor.
Pick a still glyph, then use it as frame 1 of a new animation, or as a frame of this one. A glyph of a different size goes at the top left. It is not scaled.
Pick a tool in the bar, or press its key. Press ? for all the shortcuts. Onion skin shows the previous frame faintly.
Shift-click picks a range of frames. Ctrl-click adds or removes one frame. A fill then goes on every frame you picked.
Morph makes the frames from one key frame to another. Insert puts them between the two key frames, in place of the frames that are there now. Dissolve flips each pixel that differs at its own point, so the same settings always give the same frames. Move slides each lit pixel toward the nearest lit pixel of the other frame. The curve shows how fast the change goes, and the dots are the new frames.
The knob shows the frame the unit picks: round(value x (frames - 1) / range). Play shows the frames in order.
The GIF plays the frames in order at the speed above, and loops.
Each frame is its columns, left to right. Each column is one 32-bit big-endian word, with the top row in the most significant bit. A frame taller than 32 rows uses more words per column. Import uses the size of this animation.
The box shows this frame: # is lit and . is dark.
Paste rows, for example from the Glyph Editor, and apply them. Rows that are smaller go at
the top left. Rows that are larger are cut to the frame size. To add several frames, paste
blocks of rows with a blank line between them.
